Calamus Estate 2010 Cabernet Franc
A very appealing nose loaded with red berries, namely raspberry and cherry; palate-wise the fruit keeps up with the 22-months of barrel ageing in 1/3 new oak, meaning the wood doesn’t dominate, though the tannins do remain quite firm and the spices appealing; you’ll also find hints of plum, vanilla and raspberry … Hold 5-7 years comfortably. Price: $20.00 – Rating: ****+
