Ontario Reviews

Ridgepoint 2008 Nebbiolo
Back in 2002 Ridgepoint introduced the Piedmontese grape Nebbiolo to Ontario-wine drinkers … the result was an interesting wine that combined Ontario with the owners Italian heritage (and subsequently the grape). This 2008 rested in barrel for some 36 months, all new French oak resulting in a wine of elegance: nose of peppered-black cherry with licorice/fennel notes … the flavours are black cherry, licorice and spice with that tell-tale acidity that Nebbiolo is known for … not too aggressive this unique wine is ready to drink now and over the next few years. Price: $45.00 – Rating: *** ½+
