Sourced from the Steve Kocsis vineyard in Beamsville because this is the first vineyard winemaker Deborah Paskus ever used (so she has a soft spot for, and a knowledge of, this fruit) … but CC will be phasing out this Niagara fruit program in the next 2-3 years (or so they say – and that would be a shame). Wine was aged 16 months in 75% used French oak. There’s a buttery vanilla note that is always present in Deborah’s wines but this time there’s a pleasant peach note that brings it all together – and some well-balanced acidity. Price: $34.95 – Rating: ****+
