This wine spent a whopping 27 months in oak – for those who are calendary-challenged that’s over 2 years … the result is a wine that has smooth raspberry fruit mixed with red currant, sour cherry and tobacco notes … the oak flavouring appears on the finish. My only real concern with this wine is that it’s sealed with a plastic cork, which means the longevity they wanted to give the wine in barrel will be lost in bottle over time … drink now.
