Tawse is making serious wine … they take nothing light-heartedly and when it comes to the lowly misunderstood Cabernet Franc grape that’s great news. 16 months of French oak, 20% new, from a blend of different vineyards, this wine shows a real good example of what can be done with Franc in Ontario. Soft and juicy with lots of raspberry and cherry notes … it’s a fruit forward wine with a touch of white pepper and hints of cigar smoke. 7500 bottles produced. Price: $26.95 – Rating: ****+
