Coyote's Run 2009 Black Paw Pinot Noir
For those of you who have read the Red Paw review this might make more sense … the Black Paw version is the brother wine to the Red Paw (which seems to show more delicate feminine qualities); the Black Paw is a bruiser with more earthy, more dark fruit, sour black cherry, and more spicy notes with hints of mushroominess … but there is also an element of finesse shown (afterall it is Pinot). There is a certain feminine delicacy to the nose before it shows its masculine side on the palate. Only 100 cases made. Price: $35.95 – Rating: ****+
