Tawse 2011 Cabernet-Merlot, Sketches

Because 2011 is sandwiched between two great years like 2010 and 2012 there won’t be too many “memorable” wines … at least that’s the thinking … but always keep in mind, there are still some elegant wines to be made from tough vintages. The nose of this red blend is loaded with plum and cherry along with touches of raspberry. The palate is pleasantly smooth with cherry, raspberry and vanilla which appear to be silky across the tongue; sure there’s some light tannins, but this one is mainly fruit from nose to palate. Price: $20.95 – Rating: ****+
