For a wine that's unoaked you could have fooled me. I just recently dumped a few bottles of the 2007 because I thought oak played a part in the making of the wine. This '12 is another hot vintage but made in the drink now and fresh style. Nose of black cherry that follows onto the palate adding raspberry, red pepper corns and a little grit, in the form of skin tannins, to the finish. Surprisingly smoky for an unoaked wine.
