Marco Piccoli does it again with this Franc/Merlot (35% each) and Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) blend aged 15 months in oak from the hot 2012 vintage. Impressive aromas of mocha, blackberry, plum and white smoke give way to a silky palate loaded with blueberry, cassis, mocha, blackberry, plum – the list seems to go on and on the more sips you take … the finish is silky with just the right amount of tannins that don’t overwhelm or dry out the tongue – what it does is make you wanna take more of those sips I mentioned previously (again and again and again); for this price you’ll want to buy a bunch for the cellar.  Price: $24.95 – Rating: ****+
