On lees for five months to give it texture but losing nothing on the aroma or flavour front: nose is a mix of apple, passionfruit and grapefruit zest; while the palate seems even more giving with tropical notes, vanilla, grapefruit cocktail and a mixture of lemon drop, zest and pith on the lengthy finish – rich, flavourful and very drinkable … it’s been a year since he left Lailey, but this wine proves that winemaker Derek Barnett hasn’t lost a step.  Price: $20.00 – Rating: ****+
