There’s a good dose of Cabernet Franc (8%) in this reserve Merlot to give it a little umph of that something extra. All was aged 12 months in French oak (20% new) … soft and supple in the mouth (the way we all perceive Merlot to be) with strawberry, black cherry and cassis in the fruit department plus chocolate and vanilla in the I’ve-gotta-have-more-of-that department. Finish is silky with just the right amount of tannin bite. Price: $34.95 – Rating: ****
