Pillitteri 2012 Commendatore

A wine named in honour of Gary Pillitteri who achieved the title of Commander of the Star of Solidarity by the Italian government. This blend of 50% Cabernet Franc, 30% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon is a real mouth-filling affair and it’s pretty from nose to palate to finish. Aged a full 26 months in all French (60% new) oak. It’s fruity with loads of plum, black cherry and raspberry plus the addition of vanilla and cinnamon on the finish. It’s well-rounded and totally awesome, plus it has great potential for the future. Honour yourself with a bottle of two. Price: $50.00 – Rating: **** ½
