About 8 months in oak (30% new) in all French and Ravine has their first red from 2015 on the shelf. It’s a pretty spot-on example of Franc from a warm vintage: sweet black cherry, cassis with tobacco on the palate; aromas are also textbook Franc with tobacco, cassis and black raspberry along with spicy and savoury notes to spare. Makes one look forward to the reserves … but for now this one is very enjoyable in its own right.  Price: $35.00 – Rating: ****
