As with the Reserve du Domaine Cabernet Franc the Grande Reserve Merlot has 14% of the other grape in the mix. Allowing it to still be labelled as a single varietal. I tried this wine 2-ways: decanted and from bottle. Decanted: soft and supple fruit, almost easy drinking with layers of dark fruit. From Bottle: super rich and concentrated, dark and spicy with black cherry, smoky-cocoa, blueberry skin and excellent length. Obvioulsy for nuance you have to start straight from bottle to enjoy this wine’s trip to supple and fruity … a wine worth spending the evening with. Price: $49.95 – Rating: **** ½
