This iconic Ontario red is Cabernet Franc dominant this year at 55%, then adding Merlot (25%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%). It’s also celebrating 25 years – the brand not the wine. It’s a little on the ‘lean’ side, which lends itself to an attractive finish and potential ageing that could give it some elegance in the future. It’s silky smooth with tobacco and black cherry as its jumping off point. Give it a couple of years then re-investigate, you should be pleasantly surprised. Price: $22.95 – Rating: ****
