These days “Forgotten Row” falls into the category of ‘fantasy name’ (as the Italians call it), like “Lost Barrel” (from Creekside); the row is no longer “forgotten” (nor is the barrel actually lost), it’s all done on purpose; but when something turns out so well you want to replicate it. This wine is now a 4 barrel output aged in French and American oak (1 new) for 8 months. This wine comes across rich and spicy with a buttery mid-palate with pear, pineapple and vanilla making this a hedonistic charmer in the mouth, AND for the nose, and it has just the right amount of acidity to balance it all out. This is one Chardonnay I can’t stop sipping. Price: $29.95 – Rating: **** ½
