(December 31, 2014) ... There were actually three Rieslings tasted this afternoon, but the other two were part of a Taste it Again article that can be found here ... While my counterpart taster (my wife) enjoyed the Chateau des Charmes 2006 the best, I found myself drawn to this Dr. Loosen from Germany; there was a laser focus to this wine that just rattled my palate in all the right ways. Aromas of peach pit and talc with a touch of lanolin and beeswax; palate hinted at sweetness, which was definitely there, but there was also a fresh, clean, mineral note intermingling with pear, Mac and green apple fruit ... This one barely showed the seven years it had under the hood of the palate, while the nose tells a different, more exotic and aged, story ... But its the palate that counts here.
