From the Cellar

Miguel Torres 2010 Syrah Special Reserve Cordillera De Los Andes Valley Collection (Chile)

24 Mar 2015

(January 1, 2015) ... Miguel Torres is a name one associates with Spain and Spanish wines, of some quality I might add ... So to see his name on a bottle of Chilean wine should raise a few eyebrows and some expectation.  Let me tell you, with this bottle they were certainly met.  Aromas are invitingly Syrah-esque:  smoky and meaty with elements of blueberry and hints of raspberry.  Palate is even more revealing and textbook in its Syrah-ness: cocoa, white and black pepper, blueberry skin and cassis.  The finish lingers with spice and a little coffee bean.  Pure pleasure and one I could see pulling out of the cellar in 5-7 years with even more pleasurable results.
