Getting the opportunity to try both the 2009 and 2010 natural ferment Pinots side by side really shows the difference of the vintage. While '09 was typically Pinot-esque the 2010 shows more spice and black fruit. There's an anise, woody note to the nose with some cranberry hiding in the background. Palate-wise there's a mix of black raspberry and spiced cranberry along with hints of vanilla and cinnamon. Interesting nose and beauty on the palate especially the peppered-black cherry finish.
