As you might be aware Redstone Vineyard is located at the old Thomas & Vaughan winery vineyard site and before Moray Tawse bought the property the previous owner showed his lack of wine knowledge by deciding to rip out the 30+ year old Cabernet Franc vines … can you imagine 30+ year old vines of Cabernet Franc in the hands of the team at Tawse, it pains me to even write it let alone think it. Anyway, here we have sourced Franc with a nose of tobacco, cassis and violets; palate is pretty with vanilla, smoke, violets, hint of tobacco and a pencil shaving-like mix of tannins and oak.
