North 42 Degrees 2012 Pinot Noir
There’s a lot of scientific jibber-jabber that went into this wine and that’s before we get into terms like micro-oxigination, untoasted barrels and oak chips; but it’s the final wine that we’re most interested in: cranberry and gentle spice with a touch of red currant, cinnamon and sour cherry. There’s also a pretty perfume nose which is violet-esque, plus balanced acidity and tannins that seem to grab the tongue and give it a shake. Nice length on a finish that comes off rather delicate. Price: $22.95 – Rating: *** ½+
