What does “reserve” mean to Peller? Well let’s start with 40% of the wine being barrel fermented with minimal new oak, the rest goes into stainless steel, both fermented then blended together and into barrels for 2 and a half months. The result is a wine with grapefruit and orange peel aromas and a little sweetness (that’s a good thing here). On the palate there’s a nice balance of grapefruit and herbal, some grassy and just a faint hint of oak nuance. Price: $18.75 – Rating: *** ½+
