What a great year to make Cabernet Sauvignon and Chateau des Charmes took full advantage. A nose full of cherry, blackberry, cassis and other dark fruit with whiffs of smoke and cinnamon for good measure. Palate has a lovely seam of cocoa and spice with cassis, fuzzy-furry tannins that hint at a pseudo-silkiness in the future ... a nice one to age a decade. Price: $25.95 - Rating: ****+
