2012 was another year for making really good, approachable, yet age-worthy, Cabernet ... as was 2010 ... this Hinterbrook version starts with smoky, cherry and mocha notes and builds from there. 16 months in oak has given oaky and pencil shaving character to go along with cigar, tobacco and smoked cherry on the palate. There's also raspberry and floral that kicks in just before the finish, which turns red fruit dominate with a lovely linger. Price: $23.00 - Rating: ****+
