2011 will be more of a Merlot year than one that will shine for Cabernet Sauvignon and this is a fine example of an Ontario Merlot. Aromas of spiced-plum with a touch of florality (I might be making words up now). Flavours keep their floral note, in the form of violets, and then layers in plum, cassis, blueberry and spiced-cherry. Good mix of acidity and tannins that seem interested in being polite with one another so there isn't too much that dominates. Price: $24.95 - Rating: ****
