Domaine Queylus 2010 Pinot Noir, Reserve du Domaine
Queylus attempts to be vineyard specific in their approach, a style that winemaker Thomas Bachelder made famous at his former gig: Le Clos Jordanne ... but this Reserve actually comes from the center block of both vineyards owned by the winery and is made in a very masculine style. Nose is robust in black cherry, spiced-plum and Christmas spices; flavours follow from what the nose picked up, dark fruit reigns supreme, tannins give the wine extra heft along with cedar/pencil shaving elements on the long finish. Price: $45.00 - Rating: ****
