Big Head 2013 Big Red
Three grapes go into this one ... Merlot (47%) and Dornfelder (23% - and mostly for colour) both dried, and 30% Syrah. Aromas are smoky with both tobacco and cassis. Aged 6 months in new barrels gives the palate a cherry sensation full of raspberry, blackberry, and cassis along with some smoky and meaty elements. Nice structure in this potentially every day drinker that could still be aged 3-5 years. 1000 cases produced. Price: $19.00 - Rating: ****
