2009 might not seem like a Syrah-like vintage, but it depended on how you cared for it. Daniel Lenko put it in oak for 18 month, all French and babied it. Now it's become a smoky, meaty, raspberry and dried fruit aroma-ed wine that takes the flavour from what you smell and adds cassis, grippy and gritty tannins along with good acidity.
