When the boys at Between the Lines told me years ago that Lemberger was their flag bearing variety I wished them luck and stood back to watch - and damn haven't they made some amazing stuff with it (aka: Blaufrankisch). This 18 month in a mix of 60% French and 40% American new oak barrels is a real beauty. Aromas of blueberry, cranberry, creme de cassis ... it just keeps giving ... and so does the palate. Pretty with cranberry, cassis, black cherry, white pepper - smooth and silky tannins with acidity that seems high but incredibly food friendly - I think these boys are definitely onto something here.
