What the …? I have to say I’m totally impressed with this Gamay – I find it amazing how you’re about ready to write off a winery as a has-been and suddenly they surprise you: one of the great parts about the wine biz. This wine won a bronze medal at the All Canadian Wine Championships, and I think it got robbed: fresh cherry with some white pepper and surprising, but welcome, leathery-smoky notes that gives the wine some surprising (yes, there’s that word again) depth.  Price: $25.00 - Rating: ****+
