A pretty exciting bottle of Gris, and I don’t say that about much Gris – the most boring grape in the world. But according to legend and lore there might be about 1% Gewurztraminer interplanted within the Pinot Gris vineyard and so we get something a little more punchy – it’s fruity and quite aromatic with some lychee and spicy character just settling in on the background – there’s also nice weight and texture. It’s not your usual Pinot Gris and that really is a good thing. Price: $19.95 – Rating: ****
