It’s a single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc from the Awatare Valley in Marlborough, and it’s a wine with very special significance to the winery as it is dedicated to co-founder Greg White, who along with his wife Sue started the winery in 1994. It is also made in limited quantities: only 2000 cases in 2015. Made from 12-15 year old vines and minimally oaked in older barrels. The result is a Sauvignon Blanc with subtlety and charm: white grapefruit with nice minerality, a touch floral along with citrus zest and pith – and there’s also a beauty of a long finish.  Price: $24.95 – Rating: ****+
