Founded in 1999 by Eduardo Chadwick, Arboleda devotes 70% of its production to Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere – which makes wines like this Chardonnay a rarity in their portfolio. This is the first year Arboleda has used native / indigenous yeasts in their Chardonnay. Wine is aged 10 months in older French oak barrels for added mouthfeel. Fairly fresh in the fruit department with peach, apple and vanilla; but it lacks the butteryness most found in Chardonnay, though it does have an interesting lanolin component in its place. Price: $19.95 – Rating: *** ½+
