Suddenly, after judging at the All Canadian Wine Championships, this became one of my new favourite British Columbia wineries I’d never heard of; their Malbec impressed me as much as any of their other wines: blue and black berry with cassis, graphite, wood smoke and cedar – it was a touch on the oaky-woody side when I tasted it, but I have a good feeling that fruit will rise above it all.
