This is a step up in the Casillero line but it feels more like a leap than a step. 14 months French (15% new) and carefully selected grapes from specially chosen vineyards makes for a wine that starts off soft with cherry and raspberry plus a hint of baker's cocoa, along with some cinnamon and spice … it's a wine with an elegant drinkability yet with a peppery finish and longevity to spare (5-7+ years) plus it’s a great value to boot.  Price: $17.95 - Rating: ****
