The first vintage of this wine was in 1999 and its reputation has continued to grow. Vine age is a well-established 30+ years which aids in giving this wine mineral notes; but it’s the lushness of mocha, black cherry, blackberry and spice that really gives this wine its appeal; and the ageing in both French and American oak gives it a vanilla / spice combo on the finish that will continue to lure you back; but just be careful of that 14.5% alcohol which has a way of sneaking up on you when a wine is this good.
