Name
Sorrentino 2016 Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Rosso Superiore, “Vigna Lapillo”
Review

At 500m up the side of Mt. Vesuvio is where the Piedirosso and Aglianico that go into this wine are grown, an 80/20 blend aged both in steel and oak (14-18 months). Aromas of smoked meat, licorice and blackberry follow onto the palate where black cherry, a hint of cedar and some salty-minerality combine with the acidity to make this a very refreshing, food friendly wine.  Rating: ****
