This Franc spends only 7 months in oak, a mix of both American and French, which explains the fruit forward and intense flavours in this wine: raspberry, tobacco and spice, all hallmarks of the grape, plus vanilla and a little pepper on the finish. The wine is firm, yet approachable quickly after pouring, simple but still incredibly tasty; and for under $15 it’s a steal … but don’t tell them I said that. Price: $14.95 – Rating: ****
