Stratus 2007 Merlot
Made from the oldest block of Merlot on the property, which is up to 20 years of age. The wine is the 3 S’s: soft, supple and seductive. The nose is full of lovely red fruit, along with blueberry and chocolate. On the palate you’ll get silky tannins, good acidity, cinnamon, and smoke with cocoa powder, blackberry and cedar on the finish – and best of all it seems to linger forever in the mouth. This wine is just a baby, so it has plenty of growing up to do – right now it’s delicious and it’s only gonna get better over the next decade. Price: $42.00 – Rating: ****½
