This is one of these wines bound for restaurants only, but its also something that should become a fixture in Two Sisters’ wine shop as well – a reasonably priced bottle of wine … call it entry level if you will. 25 months in a 75/25 mix of French and American oak (15% new) and a 50/50 blend of Sauvignon and Merlot. For $21 it delivers smoky cherry, burnt raspberry, a touch of cedar and cinnamon with subtle nuances of mocha on the finish. It’s worth the $21, which means Two Sisters will undoubtedly raise the price. Sigh. Price: $21.00 – Rating: *** ½+
