It’s great to see yet another winery playing in the Gamay pond. Rosewood has used it as a rosé base and now they’re making red wine with it, and that’s some welcome news for Gamay-fans: black cherry, cranberry and earthy with a gentle spice (a la white pepper). It’s pretty textbook Gamay made from free-run juice and aged 11 months in neutral French oak ... it’s juicy, friendly to the palate and yet another stop along the Ontario wine route for Gamay lovers.
