The red kitchen-sink-blend that put Stratus on the map, and this is the 2016 version which highlights a very good red grape-gowing vintage in Ontario. The grape blend is 7-fold (Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdor, Syrah and Tannat) it is so layered it's hard to get it all in here without it sounding like just a laundry list of aromas and flavours: coffee, smoke, vanilla, black cherry, blackberry, pencil shavings, cassis, dark cocoa and so much more - this wine is rough and rugged and needs time (lots of time) so if you lie it down 5 years before drinking you should be okay to try a glass, with help of a decanter of course. Price: $49.20 - Rating: ****+
