This was 16 Mile Cellar's first go round with Pinot and they nailed it. 18 months barrel aged with between 10-20% new oak. The hot 2010 vintage lifted the fruit character on the nose with cranberry and raspberry taking centre-stage with hints of violets in the background; palate proves to be quite fruit-driven backed by earthy, white pepper and smoke with a lovely cranberry-smoky finish.
