A wine they started making in 2010 and has been made three times since (none in 2011). It is the Australian answer to the Italian Ripasso wine, but instead of a blend of grapes it is 100% Shiraz. Named after the grandfather of the family (Alfredo) this wine is loaded with rich fruit: huge cherry, strawberry and some milk chocolate caramel on the nose. Palate is touched by white pepper before raspberry, strawberry, blueberry and spice sweeps in with spice and cocoa on the finish ā Iād lie this one down for 5+ years just to calm it down because of all those big tannins, but it has the fruit to carry it. Price: $16.45 ā Rating: ****
