If you're expecting big, ballsy and bruising from this incarnation of Laura, you are dead-on. Merlot dominates with 35%, the Cabs add 50% together, then splashes of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Syrah all make an appearance ... then aged 20 months in barrel. There's a huge punch in the mouth delivered on the first sip and it continues right to the last: sweet dark fruit and spice plus bacon, baking spice and cocoa - the tannins grip and the acidity balances; it's a wine that'll easily age 10-15 years under its screwcap closure.
