2016 was one of “those vintages”, a vintage you’ll talk about for years to come and wines you’ll be drinking for years to come. This reserve blend from Pondview is a prime example of well-priced and age-able because of that great 2016 vintage: mocha-cinnamon savouriness along with a plethora of dark fruit – blackberry and black cherry foremost among them; followed up with gripping tannins and a nice spicy component. Sit several in the cellar and watch them evolve – and they’ll do so slowly under that screwcap. Nice job.
