For a guy that has been making wine in Ontario for as long as JL Groulx has I’m not surprised he has mastered Cabernet Franc. Two years in French oak, 15% new and lots and lots of flavor, from the subtle floral on the nose to the great cherry and gentle smoke that backs it up … layer in the raspberry, subtle earthy character and tobacco – and you have yourself textbook warm vintage Franc … now all it needs is a long finish – oh, wait, it’s got that too.  Price: $38.00 – Rating: ****+
