The 2015 of this wine was a coup for this new Niagara-on-the-Lake winery and put Vincenzo and his project on my radar - now with the 2016 under his belt he proves ‘15 was no fluke … The hot vintage allowed for 50% new oak to be used (all French) and develop loads of great aromas and flavours: tobacco, black cherry, raspberry, a robust tannin profile along with hits of mocha (palate) and floral (nose) … Now if he’s just do away with the synthetic cork so I can age this baby; sadly under that synthetic you have about 2-3 years tops. Next year hope for the real stuff or a screwcap closure.  Price: $35.00 - Rating: ****+
