Slowly this is becoming one of my favourite annual wines made by Ilya Senchuk (winemaker / co-owner) at Leaning Post … the wine is first barrel fermented then it is aged in stainless steel tanks for 9 months with its full lees helping to give the wine that texture and depth of flavour that it develops; but because it’s not overblown with oak the fruit still shines: apple, peach, pear with hints of vanilla and lemon pith … the acidity keeps the wine fresh with a finish that carries honeydew and melon rind notes.
