From a new Hockley Valley winery using Niagara fruit (not always, just for this one) – the winery grows the Pinot family of Gris and Noir plus Cabernet Franc. This Pinot has the pre-requisite light colour you expect plus some vibrant cherry and cranberry notes along with beet root and earthiness … near the finish we find some strawberry stem and interesting tannins that help support a smoky-toasty finish … which is where I exit the bandwagon for this wine – but I get the style.  Price: $29.95 – Rating: *** ½
